It’s been less than a week since downtown Tampa got a taste of some of the Bay area’s best rappers during Gasparilla Music Festival, and Rock the Park wants to keep the vibe going tonight for a free concert at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

Asaru—one of CL’s recent “22 Tampa Bay Rappers to Watch in 2022”—is in the middle of the bill and will be backed by Illsboro label head and Tampa legend DJ Sandman for a set of Bronx-born rap all buoyed by a natural presence that the young emcee seems to have possessed right out of the gate.

Performing before Asaru is songwriter Kimi Tortuga, with wavy indie-pop act Parriss & the Night closing things out at the Curt, located at 400 N Ashley Dr. As always the show is free, pet and family-friendly, with food from JamDish available near the Tampa Museum of Art awning. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.
