BK Jackson is, hands down, one of the best artists Tampa Bay has ever given to smooth jazz.

On Saturday Jackson (now a member of Trombone Shorty’s band) joins another saxophonist who was a member of Prince’s New Power Generation (Adrian Crutchfield), 21-year-old piano and sax prodigy Bryan Thompson and Keiko Matsui collaborator Jackiem Joyner when they all come together under the direction of Tim George for a family-friendly fundraiser. Monies collected at the Uptown Music Festival will go toward supporting the University Area Community Development Corporation.

Uptown Music Festival w/B.K. Jackson/Adrian Crutchfield/Jackiem Joyner/Bryan Thompson/Tim George. Sat. June 15, 4 p.m.-10 p.m.. $15 & up. University Area Park CDC, Tampa. eventbrite.com.
