Behind the scenes over the last couple of years, Marcos Coronado has lent his talents to some of the Bay area’s best artists, but on his debut full-length, the producer-songwriter-singer better known as Guy Average takes the Hinges off and lets listeners into his world.

For 22 minutes, Coronado—together with an all-star cast of Tampa talent including bassist-producer Brendan Porter, saxophonist Nick Bredal (aka ChootyB), The Fuss guitarist Graham Bhuyan, and the Fuss leader Jst Ray—runs through R&B that’ll arouse fans of the sexed up swag of groups like Blackstreet, the elusiveness of Frank Ocean, and those drawn to the jazzy wit of early-aughts favorites like Lucy Pearl.

Stick around for the Spanish-language, breathy, acoustic bedroom-ready tune hidden at the end of Hinges, and expect nothing less than a who’s who of next-generation Tameño talent at this release show.
