Do a web search for “Shya L'amour,” and you’ll quickly learn that the Tampa rapper knows how to make waves online (the latest news is about her child with one of the Migos, Offset). Fans, however, will be happy to focus on her music.

A new video for her latest single, “On Go,” is obviously fictional, but it finds the emcee collecting funds from girls who are carrying out a racketeering operation. Shot by emerging filmmaker and recent Kodak Black collaborator Vincent Escobar, the nearly five-minute clip also finds L'amour’s stylist — another Tampa native, Sakeya Donaldson — drawing inspiration from Lil’ Kim for the looks on-screen during nightclub scenes shot on location in Atlanta, Georgia.

The video was edited by a former Tampa creative, Trill Phil, and is only the beginning since L'amour and Escobar have plans to expand on the storyline in a short film that extends the story line from “On Go.”
