Ronny Elliott is a mainstay on WMNF 88.5 FM’s Florida Folk Show, and man, we wish the birthday boy (he turns 72 on Sunday) would write a song about the the recent brouhaha surrounding the firing and rehiring of co-founder Rob Lorei and this week’s resignation from GM Craig Kopp.

We say that not to make light of the drama that’s embroiled the community radio station, but because Elliot’s folk songs have always featured just the right amount of sensibility and humor to make them interesting, gut-busting and introspective at the same time. He returns to the Hideaway Café this weekend.
