A Rainy Night In’s May 2020 single “Bleeding Heart” is a great gateway into the Tampa band’s self-described twee-pop sound, but the band’s output is much more complex than bubblegum-pop averse listeners might think. The foundation of A Rainy Night In’s approach is reminiscent of a young Broken Social Scene’s use of horns and keyboards to craft that beloved BSS-dreamscape.
Hooch and Hive is a founding participant in Tampa’s Safe and Sound movement, making it possible for live shows to still exist in a pandemic with proper social-distancing and mask rules in place.
