Animal advocates who also like really cool music, mark your calendars: Ted Leo is going to be interviewed on WMNF 88.5 FM's popular Wednesday-morning animal news-and-views program, Talking Animals. The indie-punky singer, songwriter and Pharmacists bandleader is well known for his outspoken views in favor of various progressive causes; he's also a longtime vegan who once even repped for peta2, the polarizing animal-rights group's more youth-focused little sibling, back in 2007.

There's no telling what Leo and Talking Animals host Duncan Strauss might get up to talking about this Wednesday, but both are thoughtful, funny and passionate guys, so it will definitely be worth hearing. And if you haven't been listening to Talking Animals on the regular, consider it — Strauss, who in another life managed some of the world's best stand-up comics, has great taste in guests, and tends to play great comedy and animal-themed music along the way, to boot. The show airs at 10 a.m. on WMNF, or you can listen online.
