Jersey's The Gaslight Anthem, that non-punk band with more punk cred than any non-punk band this side of Against Me!, has decided it's time to let the world know that its next album will be called Get Hurt, and released August 19.
The press release for the announcement finds the group "drawing on a fresh palette of influences ranging across folk, punk and Americana" (*ahem* all prior Gaslight Anthem influences *cough*) to produce and album that's "heavier, and yet at the same time more intimate, than anything they have produced to date." So, we're thinking, you know, "a little less Springsteen-y." Which is fine! Look, we're fans of the group's compelling, timelessly informed rock 'n' roll around here, and we think this LP's likely gonna be another winner.
