It’s been six years since The Heavy Pets released any new material (their last album Strawberry Mansion featured a contribution from steel pedal up-and-comer Roosevelt Collier).

This weekend, however, the Ft. Lauderdale-based reggae-rock outfit brings West Palm Beach’s Guavatron—an “electronic rock jam band”—along to the historic downtown St. Pete room that has previously weathered The Heavy Pets’ power while still under the State Theatre name.

Tickets to see The Heavy Pets play Floridian Social in St. Petersburg on Saturday, July 6 are still available and start at $13.
