The Isley Brothers, Motown legends and sample source for just about every rap song in the ‘90s, has been around for awhile, and they’re celebrating with a 60th anniversary tour stop in Clearwater next month.
The tour, which promises “All the hits,” comes to the Duke Energy Center for the Arts at Mahaffey Theater on Thursday, December 19th at 7:30 p.m.
"This tour is dedicated to all of our fans around the world! I love you all and could not have done this without your constant love and support for our music and the Isley Family! Thank you," said Ron Isley, aka Mr. Biggs, in a statement.
Known for a myriad of mega-hits over the years like “Between The Sheets,” “Footsteps in the Dark,” “That Lady” and “It’s Your Thing,” the group is arguably best known to younger generations as the sample source for rap classics like Ice Cube's “It Was a Good Day,” Biggie’s “Big Poppa,” Naughty By Nature’s “Hip Hop Hooray,” and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “The Crossroads.”
Tickets range from $55 to $95 and can be purchased online at www.TheMahaffey.com
