I canโ€™t think of anyone who wouldnโ€™t hear shades of June Carter and Johnny Cash in the bloodstream of this Atlanta-based husband-and-wife duo.

The Waymoresโ€™ upcoming Greener Pastures album has plenty of slide guitar, a few organ licks, and even a little bit of rockabilly thrown in. The recordโ€”produced by Shel Talmy, who has brought early hits from both The Kinks and The Who to lifeโ€”doesnโ€™t release until late August, but itโ€™s almost impossible to imagine that Willie Heath Neal and Kira Annalise wonโ€™t be doing sneak peeks at this no cover, reservations suggested, gig.

It’s free to see The Waymores play Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe in Tampa on Friday, July 7.
