A quick look at some shows happening this Sun., Nov. 8.

Beech Creeps with Veiny Hands Brooklyn-based Beech Creeps is a noisy blistering power trio featuring former members of Pterodactyl, Yeasayer and Ex Models, songs like “Everybody Loves The Beech” – the nine-minute epic that opens their self-titled debut – surging and seething in heavy wall-of-sound instrumental passages and howling vocal refrains before everything dwindles into sparse drifting psychedelia. Ol’ Dirty Sundays with Mad Skillz Virginia-bred Mad Skillz has toured the world as emcee for DJ Jazzy Jeff among others and he’s also led a prolific career as a uncredited writer for the likes of Diddy and Will Smith (which he waxes on in his track “Ghostwriter”) in addition to solo outings that encompass his supposed last LP, 2014’s Made in Virginia. Priding himself on remaining true to his old school hip-hop roots, Mad has made it through two decades in hip-hop by maintaining a high standard of quality and originality. He joins resident DJs Casper and Lesage for this edition of ODS, and they’re expecting a full house, so come through and get to dancing early. (Crowbar, Ybor City) –Andrea McCray

Cattle Decapitation San Diego’s venerable grindcore outfit has been raging against the evils of the human race and protesting animal, environmental and societal abuses since it formed in 1996. Nearly 20 years into its tenure, Cattle Decapitation are still perpetrators of some of the most disgusting album cover art I’ve ever had the misfortune of seeing; 2004’s Humanure is a grotesque parody of Pink Floyd’s Atom Heart Mother, with the cow standing against a barren wasteland and a whole lotta gore exploding from its asshole, while 2015 full-length The Anthropocene Extinction features a bloated corpse on a rubbish-strewn beach with a mass of waste falling from its rotted abdomen. (Orpheum, Ybor City)–LP

Mary J. Blige with Tamar Braxton Find yourself some real love with the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul this Sunday night. In spite of all the hateration and holleration, Mary J. Blige has gone platinum multiple times and won nine Grammys in her more than 25-year career, and it doesn’t look like she plans on going anywhere anytime soon. After spending some time in London and producing some tracks with fast-rising EDM duo Disclosure, she is back in the States for her “MJB Live Tour.” Warm-up from The Real co-host and fellow R&B songstress Tamar Braxton, who recently released a fourth studio album, Calling All Lovers. The Devil Wears Prada, Motionless In White A heavy music double header featuring two Warped Tour favorites. Dayton, Ohio outfit The Devil Wears Prada just re-signed to Rise Records in March, lost original guitarist Kyle Sipress, celebrated the five-year anniversary of their conceptual Zombie EP (about a zombie apocalypse), and delivered a fresh follow-up concept EP, Space (about an astronaut’s adventure after an engine malfunction) in August. The more gothic and electro industrial-leaning Motionless in White, from Scranton, Pa., is still on tour behind 2014 third album, Reincarnate, which peaked at No. 1 on both the Billboard Rock and Hard Rock albums charts.(The Ritz Ybor, Ybor City)–LP
