Judy Collins Venerable folk-roots songstress Judy Collins has been active a long time, having released 50 albums since her debut in 1961; the latest, Strangers Again, is ostensibly a duets LP that features the tuneful warbler with a guest on every track, among them, Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Jeff Bridges, The Swell Season’s Glen Hansard and Michael McDonald. Even at 76, she still clocks upwards of 100 shows a year, usually with her signature Martin 12-string in hand. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater) –Leilani Polk

WMNF Presents: Karibbyan Kruze Music Fest Now in its eighth year, this Skipperdome-WMNF collab features a full slate of Caribbean music and entertainment as powered by Island Night resident band Impulse, churning out a mix of zouk, calypso, reggae, soca and meringue, and featuring other island-hued performers (Zuberi & Crew, Johukames, Tropicgroove Band, Terry Edwards Latin Jazz Band), steel pan players (Bickley & Nelson), African dancers, and costume displays from Trinidad and Tobago. ABBATH with High On Fire, Skeletonwitch, Tribulation Norweigan axe-slinger Abbath Doom Occulta (formerly of Immortal) is king of the second wave of black metal as reborn into the new age. Dark, brutal, and theatrical, his namesake band captures black metal’s essence and updates it with cleaner textures and greater technical efficiency. Bringing new war chants to the stage, ABBATH headlines the Decibel Magazine tour in support of An eponymous debut that dropped via Season of Mist in January.
