The Mud Flappers with Strung Like a Horse The Skipperdome welcomes O-town brewed septet The Mud Flappers, their jaunty vibrant sound drawing on elements of gypsy jazz, folk-Americana and country swing, marked by strains of violin and accordion, filled out by banjo, guitars, keys and light drums, and driven by multi-part vocal harmonies. Chatanooga, Tenn.’s Strung Like a Horse lays down gypsy-kicking punk-grass marked by the kazoo tooting and mandolin and acoustic guitar playing of frontman/vocalist Clay Maselle. Noise Night at The Bunker: Marion Walker with Staghorn, Gullwing, Hello.Invade!, Stoned Ape? A free, monthly live music series that features a wide array of sounds (from metal to Americana to rock n’ roll) and talent (locals as well as touring bands) at the quaint Ybor coffee shop. Three Bay area outfits (including rowdy, tongue-in-cheeky garage-etc. experimenters Stoned Ape?, and fuzz-spastic rock two-piece Hello.Invade!) are joined by a few out-of-towners on this night: Reno’s Marion Walker, purveyors of oozing, grinding psychedelia with droning masculine-feminine vocal harmonies, and Staghorn, from St. Louis, brewing up self-styled “post-apocalyptic” post rock with down-tempo rhythms and extended instrumental interludes.
