The second edition of the downtown St. Pete Pelican Pop Fest has expanded to two days (Friday and Saturday), now encompasses two neighboring venues (Fubar and The Local 662), and promises to be a weekend jam-packed with eclectic, high-quality local(ish) talent. Among the highlights are Mogul St Reserve, another Best of the Bay-winning band thats re-locating to Atlanta and will be delivering a final set of their energetic prog pop on Friday; Sarasota quirk-pop outfit The Equines; Faux Furs, the new rock project headed up by The Semis' frontman Billy Summer; ambient melody-making rock ensemble Davy & The Gods, which features Tommy Simms (Win Win Winter/Automatic Loveletter), Shane Schuch (ex-Mouse Fire) and Ryan Metcalf (Tres Bien); and shoegaze roots makers Sleepy Vikings.
