John Digweed [pictured right] w/Three/John Busto Hallucination Limited welcomes British progressive house DJ and record producer John Digweed. He just debuted a new audio-visual mix package, Structures, that includes a two-CD set of more than 30 of his favorite tracks (some previously unreleased) and a DVD featuring Eye of the Storm, a surreal doc by filmmaker Pablo Casacuberta taken during Digweeds tour across South America, and John Digweed Live at the Vegabond, from the Bedrock/Creations Party in Miami earlier this year. Also on the bill is NYC DJ/producer Three. 9 p.m., The Kennedy, Tampa, $20 ages 21 and up/$25 ages 18 & up; dress to impress.
Rock the Park w/The Hip Abduction/Mogul Street Reserve The free monthly outdoor concert series that features local talent on downtown Tampa's scenic waterfront continues with the world jam beats of The Hip Abduction and the dynamic prog pop of Mogul Street Reserve. 6:30-9 p.m., Curtis Hixon Park, downtown Tampa, free admission (all ages).
Sons Of Hippies Album Release Party w/Have Gun Will Travel/Big Blu House Sarasotas Sons of Hippies are celebrating the release of A-Morph, their second LP. (Click here to read my review of the album.) The hard-driving modern alt rock trio is supported by two other 941 artists Americana rockers Have Gun, Will Travel, and funky hip-hoppers Big Blu House. 9 p.m., New World Brewery, Ybor City, $8.
