The arrival of “American Pie” in 1999 opened up a lot of feelings for adolescents across the U.S., and now one of its stars is coming to Tampa Bay to revisit the movie—and play a concert, too.

Thomas Ian Nicholas, who played Kevin the “American Pie” series (and starred in other movies like “Rookie Of the Year”) is close to wrapping a four-month extensive world tour with three dates in Florida, including a tour closer in St. Petersburg.

His Bay area show is billed as “American Pie Emo Night with the Thomas Nicholas Band,” and it finds the 44-year-old screening the coming-of-age film, doing a post-movie Q&A and then hitting the stage with his band and even doing a post-show DJ Set. Fans of the films should be familiar with the band’s emo/pop-punk style since its 2012 single “My Generation” is on the soundtrack for “American Reunion.”

It’s not the first time Nicholas has hit the stage in Tampa Bay either. In the summer of 2023, he played a solo set as part of an emo night hosted by Dashboard Confessional drummer Chris Kamrada.

Tickets to American Pie Emo Night with the Thomas Nicholas Band happening Thursday, April 24 at Coastal Creative in St. Petersburg are still available and start at $15.
