The Tampa Bay live music calendar won't back down, and neither will Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers who just announced a May 6, 2017 show at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Guitarist Joe Walsh, of Eagles fame, will open the show. Tickets go sale Friday, December 16 at 10 a.m. EST. and will cost $31.25-$145.75. There is a special pre-sale for members of the Heartbreakers Companions Club, but, let's face it, you're not in that club if you're just hearing about this show now.

The appearance is a celebration of the Gainesville outfit's 40th anniversary as a band, which is also being commemorated with dual vinyl box sets which will capture their entire studio output.
