The Last Waltz 40 Tour w/Warren Haynes/Michael McDonald/Jamey Johnson/John Medeski/more Admittedly, CL can only think of one Last Waltz recreation that really tugs at our heartstrings, and that’s the one Bradenton Americana outfit Have Gun, Will Travel staged in November 2015. Close to a dozen of the band’s friends joined them for the tribute to Scorsese’s iconic concert documentary, and Bay area filmmakers Ryan Seybold and John Joeb got it all on film, earning them a Best of the Bay award last year. This one happening in Clearwater on the 40th anniversary of the film will be pretty jaw-dropping though since it finds an all star lineup including Warren Haynes, Michael McDonald, John Medeski, Ivan Neville and more trying to recreate the magic from a 2016 New Orleans Jazz Festival set that many in attendance say was one of the long running festival’s best performances ever. Circa Survive w/mewithoutyou/Turnover Philadelphia rock outfit Circa Survive (led by charismatic frontman Anthony Green) are celebrating the tenth anniversary of On Letting Go, their ultra transparent 2007 LP where Green & co. lay the thinking behind personal philosophies, relationships and feelings out for all to see. The arrangements hold up next to the lyrical content on the album, and the icing on the cake here is a support bill that includes another Pennsylvania act, experimental rock heavyweights mewithoutyou, who are touring behind their sixth full length of dizzying, strangely innocent post-harcore that borrows from C.S.
