Amid manning the boards for an impressive roster of bands at his St. Petersburg-based MANA Recording Studio, singer/guitarist/producer Erik Rutan also leads one of the best death metal acts practicing heavy crushing technicality today: Hate Eternal. He and fellow core member/bassist J. J. Hrubovcak along with young yet choppy drummer Chason Westmoreland released the epic, drama-stoking Infernus in August, their sixth LP overall and debut on Season of Mist. The month-long tour behind it nears its conclusion with this hometown date featuring support from labelmates Misery Index and Beyond Creation and Rivers Of Nihil. Tue., Nov. 24, State Theatre, St. Petersburg, $15.
Check out a few cuts off Infernus below, and peep a pretty cool behind-the-scenes video featuring Rutan at his Mana Studios, too.
