Ingrid Michaelson with Greg Holden The video for Ingrid Michaelson’s “Girls Chase Boys” is both charming and clever as it pays homage to “Simply Irresistible” and Robert Palmer’s retinue of slick-haired, shiny-lipped, mini-skirted women; Michaelson’s own gender-bending coterie is packed with men giving enigmatic stares and performing sexy synchronized dance moves. The bright, buoyant ode is the lead single off the indie pop singer-songwriter’s sixth and latest full-length, Lights Out, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and brings her onto the road in support. Her setlist’ll likely be heavy on new material, but darling love ditty “The Way I Am” will most definitely an appearance. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater)

The Maness Brothers Slinging mud-crusted garage and blues out of St. Louis for the past few years are brothers David and Jake Maness, the former buzz-sawing through riffs and wailing a mean and greasy slide guitar, the latter driving the pounding and crashing rhythm train, both trading off on muscular, Southern-drawling vocals.
