Two fine concerts are happening in downtown Tampa on this Mon., April 11. More info below.

Lera Lynn If you watched the second season of True Detective, you might know post-roots songstress Lera Lynn from her bit role performing on an otherwise empty stage at the dank bar where Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn meet – or perhaps you simply remember her powerful, darkly somber vocals from one of the five songs in HBO’s crime drama anthology that she co-wrote with T Bone Burnett and Roseanne Cash. She arrives to play the Club Jaeb series on the brink of releasing a third album, Resistor; Rolling Stone hailed first single "Shape Shifter” as "evocative of everything from nineties girl-band alt-rock like Veruca Salt and the Breeders to modern artists like St. Vincent and Fiona Apple.” (Jaeb Theater at Straz Center for Performing Arts, Tampa)

Pearl Jam Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade made headlines recently when he challenged the members of Seattle’s favorite post-grunge rock band to a game of basketball when they’re in Florida this week (they stop at the American Airlines Arena on Saturday before making their way to Tampa on this night). Eddie Vedder & Co. accepted, but there’s no telling whether the court match-up. Here’s hoping that it does, no one is injured, and Pearl Jam lands in Tampa feeling victorious from their unexpected win. (Amalie Arena, downtown Tampa)
