Brent Hinds Guitar Clinic We’ve got a feeling that this one is gonna hit capacity. Face-tatted sweetheart and Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds is pimping Orange Amps at this clinic where VIPs will get to meet and greet the 43-year-old modern metal icon. (Replay Guitar Exchange, Tampa) INFO
Blunts & Blondes Back in June we labeled Blunts & Blondes as one of the premier, up-and-coming DJs in the Tampa Bay area. In the meantime, he’s been booking gigs all around the country but August 16 he will be playing before a home crowd at Shephard’s. If you haven’t got this long-haired bass fiend before, be prepared to get hyped. His live sets are notoriously rowdy and with his bouncing, empathic presence behind the boards you’d think you were catching a Skrillex set. Read our interview here. J. Cole w/Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals Creative Loafing hits the road for this gem of an Orlando show, as the 4 Your Eyez Only tour featuring J. Cole and Anderson .Paak rolls through Florida (unfortunately, there is no Tampa stop.) J. Cole has a garnered superstar recognition in the hip-hop world. While some panned him for his earlier commercial releases like Born Sinner, the rapper has since moved on to record two platinum certified albums without the help of one feature. His socially conscious, heavy and sometimes politically motivated records don’t scream radio, but Cole is one of the top hip-hop artists in the game today. Opening the show is Anderson .Paak, whose album Malibu made our list for albums of the year in 2016. This is a can’t miss show that has us willing to deal with I-4 rush hour.
