Philadelphia’s Modern Baseball make music that should’ve been born in the midwest, and a new album — Holy Ghost (due after the guys graduate from Drexel University) — is poised to catapult frontman Brendan Lukens & Co. out of their somewhat underground popularity and into the realm of alternative rock radio residency. Get there early to see PUP, a Toronto-based bunch of youngsters that were the not-so-quiet darlings of last year’s Pre-Fest shenanigans. Tue., Nov. 3, 6 p.m. doors, 7 p.m. show, Orpheum, Ybor City, $13 (all ages).
