Radon w/Wolf-Face/Sandspur City In the early 90s, before bands like Hot Water Music and Less Than Jake defined the city’s sound, there was Radon. A book about the Gainesville punk outfit gave it a swift kick in the ass recently, and the fruits of the movement look be a fourth LP due sometime next year. This is a chance to see the boys alongside Dave Decker and his band Sandspur City which is going to release a new record, Hey Kid Your Dad’s A Dick, on Japanese DIY label Eager Beaver. What’s crazy is that 20 years ago, Radon and a band called Clarmiel were supposed to both open for Archers of Loaf at the Local 506 in Chapel Hill as part of a mini tour. A serious car wreck nearly killed Radon, but Clairmel (now called Sandspur City) got to play the show. This week, Radon and Sandspur City are finally going on that mini tour, and this is the Tampa reunion show you’ll probably see all your high school buddies at. (Transitions Art Gallery, Tampa) INFO

NEW // IN PROCESS w/Elizabeth A. Baker/Erich Bargainer Regular readers of cltampa.com/music know that Elizabeth A. Baker is our favorite, vibrator-wielding composer (seriously, go read the web post). On this evening, the 28-year-old from St. Pete is playing toy piano, harmonica and “vibrating objects” as she and another experimental mind (Eric Bargainer on banjo, bass and more) for a performance of new and in process works that explore various elements of human experience “including artistic identity, fear, slavery, and psychosis.” Dance works will also be presented and a panel discussion where attendees are “highly encouraged to ask questions about the processes behind these new works and to give feedback on their experience” will follow. Busdriver w/Zeroh/Jon Ditty It pays to shine at the cypher. Just ask Regan Farquhar. The 39-year-old emcee better known as Busdriver made a name for himself by taking the mic at Los Angeles’ underground Project Blowed workshop, and his sophomore release — Temporary Forever (released in 2002) — put him on the map thanks to a lefty message delivered in what’s become his revered, hyper-intelligent, dizzying and multi-syllabic delivery. Busdriver’s latest release, 2015’s Thumbs mixtape, features cameos from Anderson.Paak, milo and Del the Funky Homosapien, but the real stars of the record are the grimy synth and nightmare-ish lyrics Farquhar weaves into the effort’s 47, nearly-perfect minutes. (New World Brewery, Ybor City) INFO

Adrenaline Mob w/The Wild The 2015 death of drummer A.J Pero was a lot to handle for Adrenaline Mob guitarist Mike Orlando and frontman Russell Allen, but the New Jersey and New York-based quartet soldiered on to write new material that would honor their friend and bandmate. Joining Orlando and Allen for the ride are drummer Cannata and Trans-Siberian Orchestra alum Dave Z. (Zablidowsky, if you really want to spell that out) who were good enough to make Orlando and Allen feel just fine about continuing under the Mob banner. (State Theatre, St. Petersburg) INFO

Sam Hunt w/Maren Morris/Chris Janson In 2014, Sam Hunt, despite writing credits with Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, was still just opening for Kip Moore at The Dallas Bull. A year later, the 32-year-old was opening for Lady Antebellum at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre. On Friday, the Cedartown, Georgia hunk of of man finally gets to headline the shed as his hit song “Body Like A Back Road” continues to burn like a petroleum fueled Yule log sitting on the country radio hearth (last week was the sultry cut’s 21st week atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart). Maren Morris — winner of a 2016 Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance for “My Church” — opens the show and has potential to steal it thanks to the way she was able to bring a sharp knack for songwriting to her major label debut My Hero, which is a country-crossover record on steroids that bounces around reggae, pop, classic country and even hip-hop and R&B like it gives absolutely no fucks at all. A Night of drum and bass w/Circle K/FootSouljahs/Kay-S/Random J/Hellman/Deva Steve/Blak/Mickey Flair A little bit of The City Beautiful is headed to Seventh Avenue when Orlando’s Circle K — resident and co-founder of Torque, one of the longest-running drum and bass nights in the nation — heads to The Lion’s Den to help the FootSouljahs and Foundation.DnB find its own venue-hopping drum and bass night a more permanent home. From breakneck to neurofunk, Circle K has a grip on a wide swath of D&B styles, and his prowess has earned him a place on bills featuring LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Andy C, Ed Rush and more. He’ll be joined by a handful of Bay area-based DJs for this one. (The Lion’s Den Cigar Lounge, Ybor City) INFO

Flamingo Nosebleed w/The Jasons/Nerds Raging/The Prople Believe it or not, Flamingo Nosebleed is not from Florida. Nerp, the Queers and Ramones loving pop-punk trio actually calls Fort Wayne, Indiana home, and its 2011 release Headbanger is chock full of high-speed, three-chord rock that actually makes us a little bummed that the boys — frontman Jake Emissions, plus Mad Mike on drums and Phil Neiswender on bass — don’t call the Sunshine State Home. Umphrey’s McGee Can Release/Screening Another one of Rock Brothers Brewing’s signature creations, a sessionable pale ale called Umphrey’s McGee’s Nothing Too Fancy, is finally available in cans, so the joint is celebrating by screening the Indiana and Chicago originating prog rock outfit’s 2015 Red Rocks concert in 4K video and audio. A $30 ticket includes a case of the stuff, which is pretty much a deal in itself for the beer alone. (Rock Brothers Brewing, Ybor City) INFO
