Mind your Manners: Celebrating the Life of Rick Manners In his last wishes, St. Pete scene supporter Rick Manners told family that he’d like a memorial at The Local 662 in the event anything ever happened to him. Well something did, and now the community will turn mourning into a movement as the venue taps some of Manners’ favorite bands to celebrate a guy who would do anything for anyone without asking for one favor in return. Read our story on Manners here. (The Local 662, St. Petersburg) INFO

Room Thirteen w/The Dewars Jane Jane Pollock was a Floridian collective of eccentric souls who occupied a moldy Georgia trailer en route to recording their 2011, self-titled LP of lost child folk music. Room Thirteen (who were AKA Danny), which includes three of Jane Jane’s original members calls New Orleans home, but a 2014 single (“Coconut Oil”) suggests that a forthcoming full-length is going to a tasty collection of lounge-ready throwback pop. “Rat Rod,” below, is just pure sexiness. The Dewars, comprised of twin brothers Anthony and Zachary Dewar, possess a live set that is as visually appealing as the hyphy-pop sound they’ve cultivated on two LPs (last year’s All A Part of the Show and 2013’s Songs from the Neverglades).
