The rust-coated vocals of Sammy Hagar led the Van Halen sonic train for the years that David Lee Roth was absent, but he’d been active for decades before that, first as frontman of Cali hard rock outfit Montrose, then rocking solo, a state he returned to after his stint Van Halen amid juggling various band projects. Lately he’s been leading The Circle, which encompasses longtime (three-decade) collaborator, bassist Michael Anthony, drumming whiz Jason Bonham (son to Led Zeppelin’s late John) and Waboritas guitarist Vic Johnson. The group’s setlist include a blend of hits Hagar charted as a solo artist and with Van Halen (“I Can't Drive 55,” “When It’s Love” “Why Can’t This Be Love,” “Right Now”), along with some Zeppelin favorites, too. 8 p.m., Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater, $49.50-$150.
