Set and Setting Album Release Party w/Meatwound/Pleasures/Jensen Serf Company/SPAR Without a doubt, the band has raised the bar when it comes to how Tampa Bay’s homegrown talent gets nationwide recognition. Their last LP, A Vivid Memory, was released on Los Angeles metal imprint Prosthetic Records, and even as they prepare their new, independently released third full length, Set and Setting keep getting attention from ways away as evidenced by the Noisey review, which calls the effort "very pretty" and even "beautiful." Guitarist Shane Handal recently told CL that the band has been playing tracks from the album, which was recorded in Gainesville and St. Pete, for about a year now, but you can bet that fans will be packed in shoulder to shoulder at The Local 662 when the boys play the LP in its entirety. Listen to it here. (The Local 662, St. Petersburg) INFO

The Florida Orchestra: Youth Concerts Kids like the mall, right? If so, then these shopping center concerts by the Florida Orchestra make perfect sense. Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf comes to life for the youngsters whose cool parents bring them to these performances where “the distinct sounds of the cat, duck and other characters” from the Soviet pianists children story come to life. This isn’t commie propaganda either, so don’t be afraid that your little ones will get brainwashed at this one. Friday’s performance is in Countryside at 3:30 p.m., and Saturday’s happens at Tyrone Square mall at 11 a.m. Visit floridaorchestra.org for details. (Westfield Countryside Mall, Countryside) INFO

Blast Friday: Spyro Gyra Has it really been almost 40 years since Morning Dance? Sure has, and on Friday the band that made the smooth jazz classic will give fans a free show to celebrate. Fans, however, should expect Spyro Gyra to play a lot off a new compilation album, The Best of the Heads Up Years, released last year. If you just don’t like not paying for concerts, then there are VIP and Super VIP options available for $29-$49. (Cleveland Street District, Clearwater) INFO

Baby Bear Lo-Fi w/Jon Coleman/Joshua Arthur Tison Sometimes friends get together to help each other, and sometimes it sounds like one big happy blast of Florida folk punk music. That's what's happening tonight when Baby Bear Lo-Fi leads a show where collections are being taken to help a couple get their marriage license. (The Venture Compound, St. Petersburg) INFO

Nikki Talley Last week saw Seminole Heights eatery host a set from Roadrunner Records’ Dex Romweber, and now it looks like they’re keeping the good times rolling by welcoming NIkki Talley to the party. The Asheville, North Carolina songwriter has clocked well over 250,000 miles on the road and she’ll be joined by her husband Jason Sharp (plus her banjo and guitar) for a set supporting an evergreen 2015 LP of Americana, Out From the Harbor. (Ella’s Americana Folk Art Café, Tampa) INFO

Keller Williams and Leo Kottke Shut the folk up and listen. That's what Keller Williams and Leo Kottke want you to do tonight when each of them plays a solo set at Clearwater's historic Capitol Theatre. Both artists are veritable guitar virtuosos, and Cleveland street will be happening tonight thanks to a free outdoor concert with Spyro Gyra. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater) INFO
