Shannon and the Clams with Golden Pelicans, Veiny Hands “Darlin’, it's too late / to make it right / I had my chance / but I didn't try,” guitarist Cody Blanchard moans in “It’s Too Late” off Shannon and the Clams’ critically-acclaimed fourth LP, Gone by the Dawn. Paste magazine hailed the track as “a meaty stab at classic pop subversion – sounding sweet on the ear but harsh when you scratch under the surface,” the trio’s marriage of lo-fi garage, vintage R&B and punkabilly fuzz paired with lyrics more raw and painful than usual, and reflective of the heartache that both Blanchard and bassist/vocalist Shannon Shaw were respectively enduring amid its creation. Jucifer with Weltesser, Escapist Georgia’s Jucifer plies a thick mix of sludge, doom and death metal that gets turned up to eardrum-blasting, bone-jarring levels in a live setting via their trademark wall of speakers. A music video biopic about the roving two-piece, NOMADS: Build to Destroy, is slated for release in 2017; in the meantime, they continue to back 2015 album, District of Dystopia. Gaelic Storm California-spawned, Celtic music-pushing quintet Gaelic Storm brings their arsenal of instruments (which includes but isn’t limited to accordion, fiddle, mandolin, bodhrán, harmonica, cajón, ukulele, spoons, bouzouki, djembe and Highland bagpipes) to town behind fresh 2015 full-length, Matching Sweaters, their 12th overall.
