There’s something at turns urgent and breezy about “Red Eyes,” the first single off The War on Drugs’ third and latest full-length, 2014’s Lost in the Dream; it evokes late night drives on two-lane highways with blurring stretches of heartland on either side and a star-speckled bowl of sky overhead, the mix of swelling synth and sax melodies, fast-rambling rhythms, and the yearning croons and yelps of frontman/songwriting force Adam Granduciel coming together in understated musical splendor. The rest of the LP proves just as thoughtfully understated and sublime, the roots-shoegazy soundscapes tinged in Krauty, psychedelic and ambient post-rock tones. Support on this date (likely a sell-out) is The Everymen, a snotty-nostalgic indie rock ensemble from the Jersey area that infuses ska, punk and tinkling pop into their upbeat sounds.Mon., June 15, 6 p.m. doors, 8 p.m. show, The Ritz Ybor, Ybor City, $20-$25 (all ages).
