A few noteworthy shows are happening on this Thurs., March 3. Check out the breakdown below.
UFO Sex Scene Album Release Party A St. Pete-based area band with colorful high-octane stage shows and a keytar-swinging frontwoman, UFO Sex Scene plies a space-themed tweaked-out blend of garage rock, psych-grooves, Dark Wave and noise pop, and they’re celebrating the completion of a second EP, Mars One Dad, on this night; first track “Happiness” has a definite Siouxsie And The Banshees feel with its haunting and snarling vocals and sinister roiling washes of instrumentals. (Listen after the jump.) For the release party, the trio is joined by Adriana Sparkle (“a bearded lady who finally escaped the circus to pursue a life of fame and stardom”), and a couple of femme-rawkers with experimental tendencies kick off the festivities: Betty Dawl and Soapbox Soliloquy.
