MUSIC WEEK: SEE THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS IN LIVE MUSIC

Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot Sorry, but when it comes to Billy Joel tribute bands, the only one you really need to know is Mike DelGuidice and Big Shot. DelGuidice — who also plays the Beatles, Journey and Elton John at these gigs — was tapped by Piano Man himself to join his touring band in 2013, and since Billy Joel never commits to long tours the 45 year old New Yorker gets to bring this show on the road pretty frequently. This will be Big Shot’s Clearwater debut, however, and Billy Joel fans should know that the tribute band’s guitarist and drummer, Tommy Byrnes and Chuck Burgi, also play with Joel on the regular (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater) INFO

City and Colour w/The Greyhounds Everyone’s talking about moving to Canada these days, but Dallas Green is trying to bring the Great White North to you. The 36 year old songwriter better known as City and Colour is headed back to the Bay area so that he can show off his fifth studio full length, If I Should Go Before You, plus two never before released songs “Peaceful Road” and “Rain,” which Green cut during the sessions for Go. The man with the silky croon is a three time Juno Award winner (think Canadian Grammys) and frontman for Alexisonfire, so expect some bigtime singalongs from the diehard fans at this one. Deaf Poets w/Johnny Mile & The Kilometers This is night one of a two-part Tampa Bay stand for Miami garage rockers Deaf Poets who arrive way in advance of a new EP, Lost In Magic City (due on Cinco de Mayo). “What Am I To Do” from the effort is a bit more polished than previous output from Miami New Times’ Best Miami Band of 2014, but “Celestine” is just as loud as anything guitarist Sean Wouters and drummer Nico Espinosa have put out in the past. Details on show two at The Hub in Tampa are available in extended listings, which you can read online here. (The Bends, St. Petersburg) INFO

The McCartney Years This Macca devotion is the “world’s no. 1 McCartney tribute,” but unlike the McCartney Project playing Palladium 30 miles away, The McCartney Years (led by Yuri Pool) focuses on the recreation of a “mid 1970s Paul McCartney concert” where the Beatle pulled from “more than 20 hit albums.” If you need a cosigner to get you out to Greek town, then look towards Wings guitarist Denny Laine who really got specific when he called this show “fantastic.” (Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, Tarpon Springs) INFO

McCartney Project Ooooh, battling Macca tributes (see details on one happening in Tarpon Springs below). This one fronted by Tony Burlingame calls itself the “no. 1 tribute to the Beatles, Wings and Paul McCartey” and promised to cover a wide swath of what our favorite left handed bass player from England put out with those various projects over the years. If you’re feeling extra desperate for Paul, then go to the meet and greet afterwards. (Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg) INFO

Simrit Otherwordly. Enchanting. Timeless. Those are all words listeners use to describe Simrit brings a healing, easy show to St. Pete. If nature could manifest itself onstage, then a Simrit show is where you might find it. (Free Fall Theater, St. Petersburg)  INFO
