Travis Scott has just announced the lineup for his sold-out Astroworld Festival. Gates for the sold-out festival happening at the 350-acre NRG Park (across the street from Houston's long-shuttered Six Flags AstroWorld, which was the inspiration for Scott's latest album) open at noon on Saturday, November 17.
The rapper — who grew up in nearby Missouri City, Texas — recently postponed a string of tour dates (including one November 12 show at Tampa's Amalie Arena), which had some fans on edge about the Astroworld Festival lineup.
But now festival goers know who they're going to see onstage.
As the festival’s curator and founder, Travis Scott, will take the stage, but so will another Texas-native and Grammy-nominated songwriter-rapper, Post Malone. New Orleans' Lil Wayne will be there and so will Atlanta rapper Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd
Metro Boomin, DJ Virgil Alboh and well as Canadian rapper-model Tommy Genesis are also slated to perform along with up-and-coming emcees like Sheck Wes, Gunna, and Trippie Redd (Wes, Gunna and Redd were supposed to open that postponed Tampa date).
The Houston All Stars, which collectively features some of Houston's most legendary rappers and emcees, will help round out the festival lineup.
A press release says that the Astroworld Festival seeks to bring back the beloved spirit and nostalgia of AstroWorld, making a childhood dream of Travis’ come true, to share with residents of Houston and travelers from across the globe the magic that was AstroWorld.
The festival is a family-friendly event where children three-and-a-half-feet tall and shorter are admitted free if accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. There will be no children under the age of 14 allowed in without the supervision of an adult.
The festival also announced the implementationof free water stations, so patrons are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles or Camelbacks (which must be empty prior to entry).
Only clear backpacks and small purses will be permitted inside the festival grounds. Backpacks, large purses and Camelbaks with more than one pocket that are not clear will not be allowed.
There will be lockers available onsite for attendees to safely store belongings, and interested patrons can reserve a locker in advance. The press release says that patrons who reserve a locker online will receive an email 24 hours before the fest (like now?) containing their locker location, locker number, and lock combination so theycan easily find and use their locker with unlimited access.
