Vampire Weekend has reemerged without founding member Rostam Batmanglij, but with news of the band’s first new album since 2013. What’s more, the band will support Father of the Bride (due this spring) on a summer tour that comes to Florida (but not Tampa Bay) in August.

Vampy Weeks (yeah, we just did that) announced the tour this morning, and Bay area fans will have to travel to either St. Augustine (August 25 at St. Augustine Amphitheatre) or Miami (August 24 at James L. Knight Center) to see the boys.

Kind of reminds us of what Tame Impala just did to Tampa Bay.

The run is Vampire Weekend’s most ambitious North American tour to date and puts the band on the road from May 17-October 8. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, February 8 at 12 p.m.

The band’s PR has added that the band will utilize Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform to ensure that  tickets get into the hands of fans and not scalpers or bots. Fans must register through the platform from now through Sunday, February 3 at 12 p.m. EST.

Registered fans who receive a code will have access to purchase tickets before the general public on Tuesday, February 5 at 10 a.m. local time until Thursday, February 7 at 10 p.m. local time. More can be found via  ticketmaster.com.
