Country music pioneer-slash-Monkee Michael Nesmith once compared vaporwave to an egg, in that once you crack into it, โ€œit goes all over the place.โ€

The same can be said about one of the subgenreโ€™s most multifaceted faces. George Clanton, 37, makes a point to dissect electronica as much as possible, and just surprise-released a deluxe version of his latest album with indie-pop outfit TV Girl Fauxllennium two weeks ago, which adds an additional seven songs to the original LPโ€™s seven.

Recently, he hit Amoeba Records in Los Angeles, where he revealed that Sealโ€™s second eponymous album was his favorite record of all time, so if you plan to do a preshow deep dive and hear a tinge of โ€œPrayer For The Dyingโ€ anywhere in Clantonโ€™s catalog, youโ€™ll know why.

Tickets to see George Clanton play Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on Thursday, April 24 are still available and start at $28.
