I really don't like change, especially when it comes to my music. Changing the new music release day to Friday's is gonna take some time to sink in. As along as I've followed music, Tuesday's were my favorite day of the week (other than Friday), only because you were able to get your grimy hands on that new album or single you'd been waiting so eagerly for. Now that day will be Friday. I'm sure I'll grow to like it, and maybe even more than the ol' Tuesday routine, since it's the kickoff to the weekend… but the additional wait on new tunes proved more tedious than I'd imagined. Ah, the struggle.
Diddy is back with a new single, and he asked for my boy Pharrell to assist. Can't go wrong with that. HEALTH keeps releasing gems off their latest, the new single, "MEN TODAY" a rowdy electronic tune with blaring synths. I introduced you to Vince Staples last week, and I will continue to share material off his impressive debut. The No I.D. production is top notch, and long overdue for the once-known Common producer. My sleeper track for the week is from London four-piece, Palace. New single "Head Above Water" is laced with intricate, ethereal guitar riffs and sliding vocals that will pair best with the evening lights. Enjoy your Friday and your new music day. There is plenty waiting to be discovered.
