Here we are, already creeping up on Memorial Day weekend. Hard to type that and not be surprised at how fast the year seems to be zooming by. At least I have your music needs covered. New Music Tuesday was kind once again. Hot Chip finally dropped their new LP, and it doesn't disappoint, a mix of R&B and electro Brit-pop that makes for a really fun record for the summer. Tame Impala continues to tease us with tracks from their forthcoming LP — are you digging the direction they're headed in? — as does Unknown Mortal Orchestra, while Shark Week treated us to a fine debut, Beach Fuzz. If you're into sandy, surf-informed garage rock, give Shark Week a spin. Interpol, I mean Ceremony, also released a new album for all you post-punk junkies (and hti Epic Problem June 22). All of these bands plus some others you should know about are featured in this edition of Weekend Tune-Up. Jam it through the long weekend, and have a happy and safe Memorial Day!
