Today we wrap up February, and it also happens to be a leap day, which means one extra day for some fresh music. Good thing we have a shiny new edition of Weekly Tune-Up to deliver it to you…
Long-running indie rock favorites Nada Surf have returned with a new single from forthcoming LP You Know Who You Are (out this Fri., March 4). "Cold to See Clear" is the second single and it's a welcome return to form from a consistent band that's been churning out consistently good music since 1996.
Australian metal-rockers Wolfmother are back, too, and have remained loud, if a bit more restrained. "Happy Face" is a stoner jam with some psychedelic harmonies that are sure to please. I'm really digging what I've heard from Victorious thus far, and I plan to spend some time getting better acquainted with it in the coming weeks.
Miguel and Tame Impala together, on one track? Well, sort of. Miguel's new EP release features remixes of his track "Waves" by a wide range of artists. Tame Impala was among those tapped, and they obliged with their best re-work to date. Imagine a jam plucked from Tame's recent Currents album, add Miguel's sexy vocals, and you have yourself damn good remix.
