Well, that went by fast. Why is it that long weekends seem shorter than our standard time off. In the midst off all those leftovers and tupperware in your fridge, let's get back to it with a shiny new Weekly Tune-Up. Take a peak at a few standout tunes below.
Jamison Isaak operates under the moniker of Teen Daze for his musical act, and he has a captivating new song titled "Cycle." Issak's airy vocals express some deep thoughts of anxiety and depression in this self-healing track. Layers of keyboards loop throughout and bring a sense of serenity, even with the heavy topic he's singing about. "Cycle" is off his fifth studio album, Themes for Dying Earth, due out next February.
Issak had this to say in an recent interview: “Much my work is inspired by nature, and it’s scary to think that future generations may not have that same relationship,” Isaak stated in a statement. “The album starts with ‘Cycle,’ a song about my personal experience dealing with anxiety and depression, and it slowly zooms out to cover some the external forces, like climate change, that are affecting those experiences. After touring last fall, I came home so cynical and worn out, I decided take all the nervous energy I had about the world, and filter it through more optimistic, positive sounds.”
Seattle trio Dude York just signed a new record deal and now they're giving us a new LP that will drop next February. Sincerely is the title of their new album and features "Black Jack" as the lead single. The first thing that jumps at you is the '90s rock vibe this song possesses. Positive lyrics about working together to achieve what we want and bouncy guitar riffs turn this into a feel-good jam, proof is with words like this: "As far as I can tell/ Nobody does it all by themselves." Advice we all could learn from.
Cameron AG is an Oxford, UK based multi instrumentalist who creates charming indie-pop. He just released Homeward Bound, a new four-song EP. "Homeward Bound" is my favorite from the bunch, as it painted a picture most of us could relate to: love and loneliness. It's a great tune to drive to. Take us home, Cameron.
