It finally happened again. Emo Night Brooklyn (a traveling, ticketed DJ night dedicated to third wave emo — think The Used, My Chemical Romance and Hot Topic) and Emo Night Tampa (a homegrown, free-to-attend affair dedicated to the genre’s first, second and fourth wave — think The Jazz June, Dikembe, American Football and, well, normal clothing) are happening on the same night and just blocks away from each other. In our eyes, the Tampa party has the upper hand on Thursday thanks to the addition of a live set from CL fave Brother Cephus, but let’s face it: we love the bartenders at both Orpheum and The Bricks. Party wherever, but at least make your song requests via the correct social media channels.
