If you've turned on the radio and tuned to 88.5 FM, then you already know that WMNF — the Bay area's 38 year old, listener supported, commercial-free radio station — is in the midst of their winter fund drive.

Listen live: WMNF 88.5 FM in Tampa, Florida

If you've ever turned the radio to any of the commercial, corporate stations, then you know why it's so important to have an alternative, eclectic slate of programming on the radio dial. Starting today, WMNF is looking to raise $245,000 to put towards operating costs

"Literally 70 percent of my operating budget is listener supported," Craig Kopp, WMNF's general manager, told CL. An audit for the year ending September 2015 shows that the station took $1,097,149 in contributions while expenses for programming and production, broadcasting, program information and cultural performances were $1,112,333.

There are dozens of shows (including news and public affairs programs) that you could choose to support, but we've listed a few music programs that we enjoy below. Hit the show's name to give directly.

Donors are encouraged to call (813) 238-8001 or donate online. Read Curtis Ross's 2014 story on WMNF here.
