Not that it’s a place strictly for the olds, but Skipper’s Smokehouse has been a Bay area live music institution for at least two decades now. That’s why we’ll always embrace the instances when a young act (in this case its’ Orlando rock and roll band the Woolly Bushmen) can infiltrate the Skipperdome on a Friday night. Joining the Bushmen will be a recently reunited early-’90s Orlando surf-rock band, Hate Bombs, whose members have managed to get back together despite being separated by distance and the responsibilities that come with middle age.

Woolly Bushmen w/Hate Bombs. Fri. Sept. 7, 8 p.m. $10. Skipper’s Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Rd., Tampa. skipperssmokehouse.com.
