Lovers shouldnโ€™t only be celebrated on Valentineโ€™s Day, Pride shouldnโ€™t only be acknowledged in June, and breast cancer awareness sure as hell shouldnโ€™t only be a talking point in October. And our friends at this annual benefit founded by Bylli Peiper in 2010 canโ€™t stress that enough.

Every year, the Pink It Up megashow rounds up a smorgasbord of local ska groups for โ€œa celebration to foster empowerment whether one is battling breast cancer or whether someone has been lost to it,โ€ according to a press release.

Bands include Victims of Circumstance, Saganaki Bomb Squad, Chubby Tuff, Bargain Bin Heroes and more.

Local comedian, and cancer survivor, Steve Miller emcees the show, and every penny made will be donated to the Morton Plant Mease Healthcare Foundationโ€™s Mammography Voucher Program, BayCareโ€™s Cancer Support Services (CaPSS) and the Susan Cheek Needler Breast Center at Morton Plant Hospital.

Tickets to Pink It Up 16 happening Saturday, Feb. 22 are $7 at the door.
