Texas blues-rock hellion ZZ Top has been at it for a whopping 50 years and is heading to Tampa where fans will have a chance to wish the bearded (and not) boys well, live and in person. And as an added bonus, the touring opener is none other than Cheap Trick, which is led by Safety Harbor resident Robin Zander. It should be noted that this date is the penultimate stop of the tour, so you can expect the band to be road-tested and raucous. The Rock & Roll Hall of fame inductees started playing music together in 1969 and have a near-lifetime of hits to choose from for this show.
ZZ Top w/Cheap Trick/Whole Damn Mess. Sat. Oct. 19, 7 p.m. $28 & up. MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, Tampa. Livenation.com.
