Nearly three years after the death of his father John Prine, Tommy Prine has plans to release his debut album this summer. Before that, however, comes a St. Pete gig happening just six-and-a-half miles from the Gulfport home that John kept with his wife (and Tommy's mom) Fiona.

Tickets to see Tommy Prine play the Side Door Cabaret at Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg on Thursday, April 20 are on sale now and start at $25.

Produced by Ruston Kelly and Gena Johnson, This Far South due on June 23, is a hat tip to a feeling Tommy (who played the old Hideaway Cafe in 2021) had when he was without purpose, partying and just existing.  “I found myself at a fork in the road and chose the better path, and in that moment, I swore I would never be ‘this far south’ again," he said in a statement.
