Tripped across (via Sayfie) the Republican Party’s web entry, 100 Innovative Ideas for Florida’s Future. It bills itself as a real-time, interactive site for new ideas from the common people. It promises that its members (who control both branches of the legislature and the governor’s mansion) will listen and act.

The ideas so far, however, are less than stellar. This week’s “innovative” idea: Publish the names of people arrested for soliciting prostitutes in the newspaper, “similar to what we do for sexual molesters. We need to change this and we need to do it today!” wrote Patricia Townsend of Monticello (that’s in the Panhandle, for the geographically challenged). Other brilliant suggestions we hope that the Legislature starts cracking away on immediately: “Incorporate Christian Student Organizations with Political Party,” “Partner With Faith-based Coalitions to Improve Education” and “Give School Funding Control to Parents.”

The site allows readers to rate these suggestions. Have at it.
