Well, I am pretty sure Santa had a lot of coal to deliver to Hillsborough officials in 2009 for their efforts to promote developer welfare, government waste and stick taxpayers with the bill for some very expensive skirt chasing. A train might have come in handy to help Santa deliver all that coal. This is one NIMBY's perspective of how the year went.

So far taxpayers are on the hook for close to half a million bucks for Commissioner Kevin White's sex trial. He claimed he was only bringing his young aide on that trip for his elderly and politically influential friend. Umm, is a pimp supposed to sound better to us than being a sexual harasser? According our Daily Loaf poll 93% of participants think that White should have to pay up! According to this article in the Trib Commissioner Rose Ferlita will again be asking White to pay up at the next County Commission meeting. Maybe the 5th time she asks will be a charm? No doubt this scandal will make the 2010 highlight reel as well.

We found out the reservoir will cost almost as much to fix as it did to build and yet officials continue to award the same company that designed that heap, HDR, millions and millions and millions of dollars for other projects. We learned that we own a mosquito spray plane that over the last six years has cost you about a million bucks. Problem is that expensive bird has yet to kill an actual bug and it looks an awful lot like a luxury private passenger plane, uh-huh.We found out our County Administrator ,Pat Bean, not only gave herself and a few of her faves raises during a budget crisis but suggested massive lay offs for other county employees. In addition we learned that Bean not only has a driver but she also accepts a car allowance! I wonder if she flies around in that plane?
