Hours after he was assailed by one of his Republican would-be opponents for voting for the "largest debt increase in American history," Florida Democratic U.S. Senator Bill Nelson announced that he was signing on as a co-sponsor for a balanced budget amendment being sponsored by Colorado Senator Mark Udall.
Nelson was with the majority of the Senate who voted Tuesday afternoon to approve the stress inducing debt ceiling extension, which comes with all sort of triggers to reduce spending in a way that we've never seen in Washington (Florida's other Senator, Marco Rubio, was one of 26 no votes).
