Charles Fazzino is arguably one of most popular 3-D artists in the country, a detail-oriented storyteller who creates fine art silkscreen serigraphs via a process in which each image is meticulously cut, glued, glittered and then re-assembled, all by hand.

Fazzino is a huge supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and after meeting Nuance Galleries owner Robert Rowen — who shared Fazzino's dedication to MDA — the pair began planning a show and fundraiser to support the organization. Fazzino donated several of his original 3-D serigraphs, personalized the backs of all sold works and by the end of the event, they'd raised $5,500.

Fast forward two years to MDA for MDA, another collaborative exhibit of "Multi-Dimensional Art for the Muscular Dystrophy Association" just in time for Rowan's 50th birthday. The April 22 opening reception/birthday party netted $14,000; the remaining original paintings, original 3-D serigraphs and various hand-painted sports stuff are on display now. A portion of proceeds from sales benefit MDA.

MDA for MDA, through May 22, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays, Nuance Galleries, 804 S. Dale Mabry, Tampa, 813-875-0511.
