The proposal unveiled two weeks ago by Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn regarding the rules that protestors a this summer's Republican National Convention, including specific rules inside a large "clean zone," have been met with strong opposition among some groups in Tampa, including several City Council members.
While the city now says they'll "tweak" the rules over the course of the next week before bringing the proposed ordinance back before the Council, some activists aren't having any of it, and have announced a protest Tuesday night in downtown Tampa.
The Coalition To March On The RNC 2012 says they'll hold a news conference Tuesday afternoon in front of City Hall, and then march from 7 to 9 p.m. in Joe Chillura Park a few blocks away on Kennedy Boulevard.
